On August 20th our next single, Possessed, comes out. This song has been kicking around for years but found its full form with All Feels where it was molded into a coming of age bop for the elder millennial crowd — a 90’s inspired reflection on growing older and growing out of the things you once loved and the often unbreakable connections we have to habits we try to shake.

Pre-saving is a stupid game but we have been told that it really helps Professional Playlist Editors sift through the wild volume of music and since we would like more people to hear the music we’ve made it is a kind thing you can do in this ridiculous streaming economy for artists you want to support.
Sidebar: Mere moments before Biden dropped out of the race I was texting some folks about how Spotify was launching in-app pre-saves (which would have been a wonderful way around the data sharing) but it turned out when they did roll it out it was only to people who had at least 5k monthly listeners so… I mean, shout out to the 31 of you on average that keep streaming our stuff each month but uh…yeah. Sigh. Go read all Liz Pelly’s stuff about streaming…I’m personally counting the days until her book comes out in 2025.
Anyway, the whole album comes out in October. More on that soon. It’s called THIS PLACE IS A MESSAGE and it is not the first album title inspired by the Human Interference Task Force but it could be the second, IDK.
In other news, I have been doing lots of mediocre piano covers on TikTok and sometimes on IG so if you like Lana Del Rey, Chappell Roan, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Lana Del Rey, Fleetwood Mac, Billie Eilish, Jenny Lewis, Emperor X and Lana Del Rey (it’s not a typo) you will… have opinions about them.
