Your Mess, Your Move
New song out today, Green River Fest, and musings from the West
Greetings from eastern Washington state. For the last week or so I’ve been everywhere (man). Through cities and small towns and prairies and deserts and mountains and caves and salt lands and wastelands and wildflowers and back again. Seen landscape shift, seen it stay stagnant. Eaten more sugar than anyone ought to in a lifetime while somehow traversing the land where most of our food is grown. Appreciated the worst cups of coffee. Caught headlines on gas station kiosks and front pages of actual newspapers (fuck ICE forever).
None of this is why I am writing to you but it feels important to contextualize where I am sending this message from for some reason. Maybe because I have been spending a lot of time thinking about movement and place. Maybe because what I’m writing about is related to movement and place both literally and figuratively. Or maybe because 11 hour driving days have a similar effect for over sharing as alcohol once did. Regardless, here it is: Today our newest single “Mess” is out in the world. It is our first release from this iteration of the band meaning it is infused with the magic of Kate and Noah.
In other news, we will be at Green River Fest in just over a week. I know you really like hearing MJ Lenderman sing about his wristwatch (we love him for real and are sad we can’t do the same) we hope you consider checking us out too.
Text me if you have my digits or send me a DM. I’ll send you back some landscapes and we can talk about the decaying world where there are still beautiful things.
